True Cultural Reflection October 27, 2008 liz.louw@gmail.com : Lizelle Louw

Hey
I am a student with Anthropology (Culture studies) as one of my majoring subjects in Dubai.  Since I moved to the UAE I have been intrigued by the Arabic culture and community and it is wonderful that you
dedicated this website to the language and culture of your people.  Culture effects your daily life and this site will highly benefit the education for nationals and expatriates about the cultural roots of the people and the country that they live in.  This site is a true reflection of the culture and the culture is a reflection of the spiritual tradition, and this site will continue to be the voice of clarity in not only the language but in the culture as well.

I do appreciate this website and hope to be apart of something similar someday soon!

Wish you all the best!!

Thanks,

Lizelle

I am a Journalist in Canada and I am proud of this administration’s efforts to inspire a higher quality of life through exploring art, literature, science, and humanitarianism. The miracle of Islam is its inclusiveness; It is for the love of Allah (SWA) and appreciation of his universe that we have been given the faculty of reason, logic, and creativity - combined with an imagination to conceptualize our endeavors; The world itself is a diverse community and we have the right and the responsibility to learn from each other; and express love, respect, and appreciation of everything that makes us all unique. I wish you the very best in your organizations progress.

Sultan`s Poem in English( يا حبيبي كيف أرجع) December 16, 2007 ndaghstani@yahoo.co.uk : Mr. Namek Daghstani M.A in Bi- Lingual Translation English/ Arabic

One of so many of Sultan`s poems I had translated in 1989

يا حبيبي كيف أرجع 1

My Love, how I come back
After what was built caved in?
How do I forget those evenings
which split what was united?

My love, how do I come back?

2
I rode to you on horses of yearning,
Raising my voice and you rushing to me;
But found the way strewn with throns,

My love, how do I come back?

The roaring of waves soared, and
The whistling wind tossed me.
My shore became too far away.
I was a sailor who gave up the sea.

My love, how do I come back?

I am a tragedy that has collapsed
Between hopes and a fountainhead,
While the spring lay infront of me,
The abyss prevented me from reaching it.

My love, how do I come back?

I shall sing to you songs of sorrow:
Call out to you in anguish
And pour grief into
Avessel that does not hold water.

My love, how do I come back?
I am the one who loves you dearly,
Who adores and hopes.
To me, you`ve always been a mirage
Which remains distant and flashing.

My love, how do I come back?

We meet in the morning,
You said, to say goodbye.
How could a deserter
Be bidden farewell, I wonder !

My love, how do I come back?

You are a beauty queen who
Sits on her throne.
But I stand behind my wall
Gazing at corners.

My love, how do I come back?

Take the World in your stride;
Play and have fun.
But if you fear getting bored
Call for the One who loves you, he will reply:

My love, I will come back !
My love, I will come back !
