Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation to Organize Two Concerts by the China National Opera House Troupe in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will host a classical music concert by the Beijing-based China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2012 on the stage of Al Owais Cultural Foundation in Dubai. The Foundation will also organize another concert for the China National Opera House Troupe in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening, January 31, 2012, in cooperation with the Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Cultural and Media Centre. The renowned troupe will perform a collection of musical masterpieces by some of the world's leading composers, and will also feature a group of opera artists from Beijing's Central Opera House.
The cultural event marks the beginning of a year filled with cultural activities for the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation. The Foundation has prepared an eventful program for 2012, which includes the Prize Distribution Ceremony for the 12th session of Al Owais Cultural Awards and the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Awards.
The concerts are considered a fruit of the cultural cooperation between the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China. The Foundation had organized field trips to a number of Chinese institutions in the second half of 2011, which aimed to introduce aspects of Emirati and Arab culture to the Chinese public through lectures given at the University of Beijing about the the components of Emirati Culture. Moreover, the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation has organized a number of Chinese cultural activities in Dubai; including the Chinese Cultural Weeks, which comprised art exhibitions, seminars, musical concerts, and film screenings, in addition to exhibitions of miniatures and handicrafts and cooking events.
The China National Opera House, founded in 1952, is the national opera house affiliated to the Chinese Ministry of Culture. It is a leading opera house that features some of the most exceptional talents and artistic performances in China and the Asia-Pacific region. The China National Opera House consists of an opera troupe, a choir, a symphony orchestra and a stagecraft department. Thanks to the persistent efforts of generations of artists over more than half a century, the China National Opera House has debuted, staged and preserved a series of world famous operas including "La Traviata", "Madama Butterfly", "Carmen", "Eugene Onegin", "Turandot", "Aida", "La Boheme", "Rigoletto", "La Nozzede Figaro", "Othello", "Cavalleria Rusticana",  and "II Barbiere di Siviglia" among others. The China National Opera House Troupe has performed at some of the world's most famous theatres in America, and in many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
