| 47 Creative Hands at Dubai International Exhibition of Arabic Calligraphy |

Under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Dubai International Exhibition of Arabic Calligraphy was launched on Wednesday, 24 February 2010. The event is part of the Dubai Culture and Science Forum and is organized by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in collaboration with the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA). The exhibition in its sixth session will be hosting 47 calligraphers from various countries in the Arab and Islamic worlds; including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Sudan, Iran, Turkey, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina and others.
The show is considered the most prominent artistic and cultural event in Dubai so far in 2010. Several seminars and workshops will he held on the sidelines of the exhibition and will be conducted by well known calligraphers with a view to offering the public first hand insight into the makings of a calligraphic work of art.
