| Call for the “Hassan Fathi Architectural Award” 2010 in Alexandria |
 The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Alexandria) and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex Med) organizes the “Hassan Fathy Award for Architecture” and Hassan Fathy symposium, in collaboration with the Architecture Committee of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Culture, announced the second round of the “Hassan Fathi Architectural Award”, in an aim to promote contemporary Egyptian architecture, and to honor Egyptian architects.
The themes of the 2010 round are namely: low-priced housing projects for medium and low income persons in existing or new cities, and projects to preserve the architectural heritage.
Two awards will be dedicated to architectural literature (books, magazines or periodicals), and Lifetime Achievements as a career award.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, 4 November 2010. The award ceremony will be held during an international housing symposium on 15 December 2010 The award winner will also be granted a certificate of merit and a gold medal that have the “Hassan Fathi Architecture Award” title scribed on it. |
