| 4th Fujairah International Monodrama Festival Announced |

The higher Committee of the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival at its fourth session which begins from 14 to 22, January, 2010 has completed all the arrangements and final touches for the opening of the festival.
And Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Vice president of Fujairah Culture and Media Authority and Chairman of the festival, announced at a press conference on Monday morning, December 28, 2009 in Dibba Al Fujairah, in the presence of Engineer Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, the festival's director, announced that this session is witnessing a quantum leap in quality and quantity of participations and publications and the quality of performances, as 15 performances were finally selected="true" from Arab and foreign countries.
The number of the States participating in the fourth session, either in performances or as guests, is 40 Arab and foreign countries. He pointed out that there are countries and organizations participating for the first time, like the United States, which is participating through the Theatre Communications Group TCG whose membership includes 450 U.S. artistic institutions, and the Group will participate with a performance that will represent America at the festival and a cultural and artistic cooperation agreement will be signed between the ITI Office of the Group and the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority during the next festival session.
Engineer Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Director of the Festival and chairman of the International Monodrama Association, said that the participating performances are the best in the art of Monodrama. Egypt participates with "I'm Carmen" by Samaa Ibrahim, Tunisia with "Flashback" by Hussam Al Sahili and Adam Atrous, Jordan with "Al Zabbal (scavenger)" by Mamdouh Adwan and Hatem El Sayed, Palestine with "Bayan Shakhsi (Personal Statement)" by Mo'nis Hamid, Abdul Rahman Abu al-Qasim and Jihad Saad, Bahrain with "Naima" by Ibrahim Bahr, Lebanon with "Zawareeb" by Mamdouh Adwan and Rafiq Ali Ahmed and Khor Fakkan Theater Group participates with "He Who Forgot to Die" by Ismail Abdullah, and Fujairah Culture and Media Authority also participates with the first winner in the international monodrama text competition by Iraqi playwright Faisal Jawad, "The Memory of Pain and Goodwill". Saudi Arabia participates with "The Coat" by Amir Al Hasnawi, in addition to performances from Switzerland, Japan, Lithuania, Russia, the United States and Luxembourg.
Mohammed Al Afkham said also that the opening day will be held, for the first time, on the court of the Fujairah Tennis Club and will feature a theatrical show entitled "Al Fujairah, Theater and Love" by Syrian Sima Group for Dance Theater, and there are several activities in the sideline of the festival including practical seminars following every performance, and a daily bulletin will also be issued covering all of the festival's daily activities, in addition to three specialized books to be also released: the first one is about the art of the Monodrama, under the supervision of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority and the World Theater Authority, and another book on the ten winners in the international monodrama text competition and the third book is about the Monodrama Festival after six years of beautiful art, a documentary and analytical reading.
