The public and Singing Featuring a Traditional Music Evening in Dubai

Concluded on Thursday evening, December 24, 2009 the events of "Egyptian Cultural Days" organized by Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture,- Cairo Opera House and Cultural Office of the Embassy of Egypt in Abu Dhabi, and the Heritage Ensemble for Arab Music of the National Cultural Center for commemoration of the Arabic music heritage, held an evening concert attended by Egyptian Ambassador Tamer Mansour and a number of the members of the diplomatic corps, where Dr. Fatma Al Sayegh, a member of Al Owais Board of Trustees presented the Foundation's Memorial Shield to the Maestro Farouk Al Babili, the group's conductor, at the end of the ceremony.
The ceremony has achieved a great success, especially with the audience who, for three hours, listened to musical Maqamat of Hijaz, Rast, Bayat and Nahawand by singers performing songs spread for decades in Egypt and the Arab world such as: Ya Hilou Sabbah, Oyoun El Alb, Laie' alaik El Khal, Gamil Wasmar, Dalili Ihtar, and other songs the audience chanted with the band until midnight.
Heritage Ensemble for Arab Music is one of the oldest orchestras in Egypt and the Arab World, which performs a range of different traditional forms and templates of music to an audience of connoisseurs of authentic art like "Muashah, poem, Dawr, Taqtouqa, monologue, and theater music, where singers sang songs composed by  senior musicians such as Riadh El Sombati, Helmi Bakr, Mohammed Al Mogi, Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Abdul Azim Mohammed and Salah Al Sharnoubi.
Egyptian Cultural Days started on December 21st with a criticism seminar on The Hero in the Egyptian Cinema, and a collection of classical films such as "The Land", "The Bride's Mother", "The Iron Gate" and "Ghazal Al Banat", and the concert was the conclusion of Days, as some of the events moved to the emirate of Ajman, and samples of traditional music were performed yesterday evening on the stage of the Egyptian Club in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Information.
