| Majid bin Mohammed inaugurates Jamal bin Huairib's library |
His highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority inaugurated, on Monday September 6th 2010 evening The Jamal bin Huairib's Heritage & History Majlis and library, "The first personal Library that specializes in the heritage and history of The United Arab Emirates in general and that of Dubai in particular" in its premises in Jumeirah, Dubai.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Jamal bin Huairib, The Cultural Counselor of Dubai's Executive Office gave details to His Highness on the different contents of the building which contains a wide collection of documents, references and historical maps in addition to an electronic library containing information about the history of the U.A.E. This content will be available to historians and researchers to invest.
His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed that The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority supports such personal initiatives which help researchers put hand on many documents, maps and photos that help them reach their aims. His Highness also stressed the importance of such cultural initiatives in linking the past of the U.A.E. with its present. |
