| Al Owais Hosts Farewell Ceremony for Luxor Authors |


The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation hosted a farewell ceremony for the Egyptian authors who came from the city of Luxor to participate in the Luxor Culture Days in the UAE which ended last Saturday evening, 8 May 2010. The ceremony was attended by Nasser Hussein Al Aboudi, Al Owais Board of Trustees member and Secretary General of the Emirates Writers Union, as well as several members of the Emirates Writers Union board of directors, Abdul Ilah Abdul Qadir, Executive Director of Al Owais Cultural Foundation, several Al Owais employees, and a large group of journalists, authors and writers.
During their stay in the UAE, the guests toured the Dubai markets and expressed their admiration of the great cultural renaissance experienced by the UAE.
The visit by Luxor writers came as a response to an invitation from the Emirates Writers Union in order to effectuate the cooperation protocol between the union and the cultural authority in Egypt. The protocol was agreed when a UAE delegation visited Luxor to participate in the UAE Cultural days in Luxor which was organized by the literary club in the same city. The event was attended by several Emirati and other Arab authors living the UAE.
The program for the Luxor visiting authors included a series of cultural events, literary evenings, meetings, tours and briefing on the most prominent institutions and cultural centers in Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
