Decision of the General Secretariat
Alfred Farag’s experiment in drama reveals the huge potential of employing Arabic culture and presenting the past with a modern feel. It also reveals a clear vision, shaped by a sense of openness among Arabs and humans in general and a strong intellectual structure.
All these factors goes hand in hand with his distinctive talent to show two parallel thoughts, one of them is the establishment of an Arabic theatre that is not only open to culture, but to many new technical levels. The other aspect is the variety of issues Alfred Farag discussed. This includes a criticism of the status quo, the development of power, mind, social struggle, positive values in the Arab man, and national Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause.
