- Did his BS in Agricultural Engineering from Alexandria university, 1958
- Worked at Aleppo Dept. of Economy and Aleppo University’s Agriculture College
- Started working at Aleppo’s General Est. of Cotton Industry in 1966
- Headed Agricultural Engineers Union in Aleppo
- Chaired the Arab Writers Union in Aleppo
- Co-founded People’s Theatre, National Theatre and Cinema Club in Aleppo
- Former editor of Al Mowqif Al Adabi
- His father was Editor-in-Chief of Al Itisam magazine late in the 1920s and early 1930s which was closed down by the French occupation
- A prolific writer who produced short stories, novels, plays, research, editorials and poetry
- His works were translated into English, French, German, Dutch, Armenian, Russian, Serbian, Polish, etc.
