Decision of the General Secretariat
In appreciation of the fact that the critical works of Abdullah Al Ghozami’s show his broad knowledge of Arabic heritage and the fine balancing of modern and contemporary theories on criticism, the award for literary studies and criticism goes to him. Despite his profound understanding of post-modern theories, he does not rely totally on them, but looks for a part of that modernity in traditional Arab criticism.
In his diverse books, he proved to be among the top Arab critics who are toiling to bring literary criticism in our homeland to a new era that is closer to modern trends.
